The spotlight is on star Boston Celtics big man Kristaps Porzingis ahead of Boston’s road rematch with the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night. The Latvian center is grappling with a knee contusion he picked up in the Celtics’ game against the New York Knicks this past night. His availability for the Celtics’ game is hanging in the balance, with Porzingis himself labeling it a game-time decision.
At shootaround, Porzingis said that he thought that star 76ers big man Joel Embiid is going to sit out tonight, asking if that “is that news to everybody?” The source of this information remains uncertain, with speculations ranging from insider knowledge to mere guesswork based on Embiid’s recent injury updates.
Boston All-NBA forward Jaylen Brown is also questionable with a non-COVID illness while Embiid was listed as questionable for yesterday’s game with a hip ailment.
CLNS Media reporter Bobby Manning gives us an update on the health of both teams in the clips embedded above.
