Although the Golden State Warriors will be missing six players due to injuries on Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons, the reigning NBA Finals Most Valuable Player could be nearing a return to the court.
In a radio interview with 95.7 The Game in San Francisco, Warriors general manager Bob Myers provided a positive update regarding Steph Curry’s shoulder injury. After missing nine games, the Warriors are targeting Jan. 13th’s contest against the San Antonio Spurs as a potential date for Curry’s highly-anticipated return from injury.
Myers also shared that Curry has been working out on the court and there have been no setbacks in his recovery from his shoulder subluxation injury.

Prior to the start of Wednesday’s game against the Pistons, Steve Kerr confirmed Jan. 13 against the Spurs is a realistic target date for Curry’s return to the lineup.

Before Jan. 13 against the Spurs, the Warriors will play three more games, including Wednesday night’s contest against the Pistons.
Without Curry, the Warriors are currently posting a 6-3 record, riding a six-game winning streak. Jordan Poole and Donte DiVincenzo have stepped into the backcourt alongside Klay Thompson during Curry’s absence.
Curry suffered his shoulder subluxation during the Warriors’ road loss against the Indiana Pacers on Dec. 14. Prior to leaving the game due to injury, Curry led the Warriors with 38 points on 11-of-19 shooting from the field.
The Warriors are set to host the Pistons on Wednesday night at Chase Center with tipoff slated for 7 p.m. PT.
