Although Draymond Green is still serving his five game suspension, the Golden State Warriors will get a much-needed boost on the defensive side of the floor with the return of a key player.
After missing three games due to a strained muscle in his left foot, Gary Payton II is set to return to the court on Friday against Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs.

Payton II is averaging six points on 45.3% shooting from the field to go along with three assists, 1.2 steals and an assist in 17.3 minutes per contest.
Payton II will return at the right time with the Warriors facing elimination from the NBA’s first-ever In Season Tournament. With a loss to the Spurs on Friday, the Warriors would be eliminated in the group stage of the tournament.
The Warriors will host the Spurs on Friday at 7 p.m. PT at San Francisco’s Chase Center.
