Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli will miss the remainder of the season after suffering ankle ligament damage in Arsenal's 3-0 defeat to Brighton, according to reports.
The Brazilian was forced off after only 20 minutes following a challenge from Moises Caicedo. He left the Emirates Stadium in a boot and will now sit out the Gunners' remaining two games of the season, according to The Athletic.
“He is in a boot,” Mikel Arteta said after Sunday’s game. “It is very uncomfortable to walk. He could not play on. We need to scan him.”

In the aftermath of Sunday's defeat, club doctor Gary O'Driscoll seemed to play down the winger's injury when quizzed on the matter. When asked by a supporter how Martinelli was doing, he said: “Sore. Terrible foul, disgraceful foul. But yeah, he’s a bit sore but he should be okay.”
The 21-year-old has enjoyed a sensational season for Arteta's side, scoring 15 and assisting a further six in 46 games. As well as commiting his long-term future to the Gunners, Martinelli has enjoyed his best goalscoring season of his career.
Martinelli joins Oleksandr Zinchenko, William Saliba, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohamed Elneny in the treatment room at London Colney.
