Influencers Break Sunnies In Protest Of Brand That Allegedly Doesn’t Pay Collaborators

Influencers and models are breaking Pared Eyewear glasses after the independent sunnies brand was accused of refusing to pay its collaborators.

In a series of scathing Instagram Stories, model and Australian Survivor contestant Shannon Lawson accused the Aussie Pared Eyewear of not paying influencers it has worked with.

“I never ever do this, but what has infuriated me is when I see friends in the industry not get paid by brands. And one of them I’m boycotting is Pared Sunnies,” Shannon said while breaking up a pair of sunnies from the Aussie brand.

“They are dead to me. I think anyone that’s following them, following me, do not support this brand. They do not pay their collaborators.”

In another scathing IG Story, Shannon reiterated her message, urging models and influencers to be aware of Pared Eyewear and how it allegedly conducts collaborations.

“I’m just I’m calling them out because it’s just a PSA to my industry. If you are going to align yourself with this brand, just be heavily warned,” Shannon began in the second IG Story.

“Spread the word. They’ve just rebranded and think they can erase contracts, they can erase what they owe talent. I mean, it’s just beyond.

“And I hate that there’s no watchdog in our industry. And if there is, can someone link me, because I just think it’s unfair that you guys, as consumers, might be following this brand without knowing.”

Shannon also shared a screenshot from a DM, where an anonymous person claimed the eyewear brand owed them $10K for their collab.

“Thank you for helping spread the word about Pared,” the person wrote, alongside some text from Shannon who claimed that “this has happened to so many people”.

Since then, other influencers and models who’ve previously supported the brand have shared videos of themselves breaking their pairs of Pared Eyewear.

Even Jordan Simek, who currently has a collection with Pared, shared two videos of her breaking sunnies, describing the posts as “ASMR”.

When PEDESTRIAN.TV reached out to Pared Eyewear, a representative claimed the brand “have paid Shannon Lawson for content and gifted product to all other girls through Jordan’s collab with no fees owing”.

P.TV has reached out to Shannon for comment regarding these claims.

The eyewear company also claimed to have paid Jordan “over $12,500 for ongoing partnerships and collaboration fees”.

The accusations surrounding how they conduct collaborations come shortly after influencer and author Chloe Fisher announced that her collection with Pared was cancelled due to “circumstances out of [her] control and several creative and operational differences”.

“I’m really saddened by how this has unfolded, but transparency is important to me, and I wanted to keep you all updated,” Chloe wrote.

At the time of writing, Pared Eyewear have not issued a public statement regarding the allegations and currently has limited comments under their social media posts.

P.TV is not suggesting the allegations are true, only that they have been made.
