Influencer shares her favourite unique baby names and people say they 'are scared'

It can often be a tricky decision to decide on a fitting name for your baby.

While many expecting parents opt for timeless classics, it's common to see other people go the other end of the spectrum by opting for incredibly unique monikers.

After sharing her favourite unique baby names on popular video-streaming TikTok, influencer Sydney May Crouch has left people concerned with her list of potential baby girl names.

Sydney - who boasts more than 240,000 followers on TikTok account @sydneymaycrouch - left people "scared" with some of her choices.

At the time of posting, the TikToker was 32 weeks pregnant with a baby girl. While she and her partner had opted for the name "Ocean", she vowed to tell viewers the "names [they] love but won't be using this time around".

Sydney went on: "First up - Nola. We were dead set that this was going to be our baby girl's name until we did our gender reveal and found out she was a girl and then it didn't feel like the right name for us.

"I love this next name so much and I've seen a big trend on TikTok of babies being this recently - Capri. Honestly, if we weren't dead set on the name now, I think I'd go with Capri.

"Romee - I just think that is such a cute name but I don't think we'll ever use it."

Admitting that she's "never heard anyone" with the name before, Sydney was a big fan of the name Arie and loved the fact that it was "so unique".

Sydney went on: "Next one is Nyla. I really really really like this name. I like 'N' names.

"Another 'N' name - this is in my unisex list and I've only ever seen one baby on TikTok with this - Novi. I just feel like I could see a baby girl or a baby boy with this name.

"And then finally - Saylor. My boyfriend just can't shake the fact that Saylor sounds like someone who drives a boat, so that will probably never be used but I think it's a beautiful name."

Since sharing the TikTok online, Sydney's video has raked in over 1,500 comments to date - where people were admittedly torn over the unique monikers.

One person admitted: "Influencer baby names scare me."

"When parents think of names they totally don't think of the poor kid," a second wrote.

On the other hand, other TikTok users were pleasantly surprised by the choice of names.

"Romee is so cute," someone said.

A different user claimed: "I've never heard the name Capri n now I want another child just to use this."

A third wrote: "I have a Romey she's 11 now and always had compliments on how beautiful her name is."
