National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett said there is no argument to raise interest rates after inflation rose less than expected in June.
"There's not really an excuse for raising rates right now," Hasset told CNBC. He went on to say that the Fed will now be "thinking the other way," in reference to lowering rates, rather than hiking them, if the trend continues.
