A police investigation is underway after a car was stolen by joyriders and then set on fire in Cumbernauld.
Fire crews arrived on the scene on Old Glasgow Road around 10:40pm last night to find the car 'well alight', and left around 45 minutes later after extinguishing the blaze.
Police are treating the fire as deliberate and say the car had previously reported stolen from the local area, the Daily Record reports.
Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the vehicle blaze remain ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to reports of a car on fire on Old Glasgow Road, Cumbernauld, at 10.55pm on Thursday, March 31. The car had previously been reported stolen from the local area.
"The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We received a call at 10.37pm on Thursday, March 31 to attend a vehicle fire on Old Glasgow Road in Cumbernauld.
"One appliance was used and the car was found well alight. Fire crews left the scene at 11.25pm."
