An indoor beach is coming to Victoria Centre this summer brining the seaside to landlocked Nottingham. Shoppers won't have to travel far to enjoy the seaside as the free summer installation encourages people to take a break and take in the coastal scene.
Victoria Beach will be on the upper mall and will be filled with ten tonnes of soft sand for the whole family to enjoy. It comes after the success of previous experiences including the Roller Room, Glow Room and Confetti Room.
The beach will open on August 5 until 29 as part of Victoria Centre's 50th birthday celebrations. All traditional seaside activities will come to the shopping centre including arcade games such as PacMan and Space Invaders.

There will be photo opportunities of seaside themes including a 3D donkey, a campervan, ice cream stand and a giant deck chair. It will be open everyday from 11am and visitors can have a free 45 minute session.
Pre booking is advised on the Victoria Centre website. Nigel Wheatley, centre director at Victoria Centre, said: “Over the years, shoppers have loved our exciting, seasonal experiences, and with the summer holidays just around the corner, families across Nottinghamshire will be on the look-out for fun ways to while away their days.
“Last summer, we unveiled our Roller Room and saw almost 11,000 people enjoy the temporary rink, so we’re anticipating that this experience will deliver all that we know and love about our familiar seaside staycations. So if you can’t make it to your favourite beach this year, we’ve got you covered.
"And you can even mark the occasion in style, with our seaside-themed photo opportunities, including much-loved donkey rides and the giant deck chair – perfect for making memories with the family. Although walk-ins are welcome, as our experiences have proved so popular in the past, we’re advising that shoppers pre-book their slots to avoid missing out.”
