Indiependence Festival 2022: How to get there and everything you need to know

Indiependence Festival takes place this weekend with an exciting line-up of artists set to play to crowds in Cork.

Taking place in Mitchelstown in County Cork, the festival is expected to attract huge numbers as it returns to its full capacity format after Covid-19 restrictions.

When is Indiependence Festival 2022?

Indiependence Festival 2022 takes place form Friday, July 29 until Sunday, July 31.

What time does Indiependence open?

The Indiependence campsite opens at 10am on Friday, July 29.

The Main Arena opens at 4pm on the Friday and 2pm on Saturday and Sunday, and will close at 2am nightly.

Who is playing Indiependence Festival 2022 and who is headlining?

Rudimental are the Friday headliners at Indiependence Festival.

Other acts performing on Friday, July 29 at Indiependence Festival include Lyra, Aimee and Shane Codd.

Meanwhile, Saturday's headline act is Bastille and Sunday's headliner is Fat Boy Slim.

Saturday's line-up also includes The Academic, Erica Cody, Rachel Mae Hannon, Marty Guilfoyle and Malaki.

Along with Fat Boy Slim, Sunday's line-up includes Becky Hill, Declan McKenna, Jenny Greene, Saibh Skelly, Le Boom, Lea Heart and Somebody's Child.

How to get to Indiependence Festival 2022

TravelMaster is the official travel partner of Indiependence. This allows ticket holders to book bus transport from 16 counties including Kerry, Waterford, Tipperary, Limerick and Kilkenny.

The bus drop off is located at The Firgrove Hotel, a short walk from the site.

If travelling by car to Indiependence from Dublin, follow the M7 out of Dublin southbound. Once through the toll plaza, travel for 4km and take the slip road for Cork.

After about an hour, you will see the first signs for Mitchelstown. Take this exit.

Turn right at the first roundabout crossing back over the motorway, straight through the second and left at the third signposted Mitchelstown.

Continue for 3km and you will see the Indiependence Festival site.

Is there parking at Indiependence?

Tickets holders are encouraged to carpool or use public transport to get to Indiependence 2022 but a limited number of car parking spots are available.

You will be asked to show your festival ticket to access the car park.

Are there still tickets for Indiependence Festival 2022?

Tickets for Indiependence Festival 2022 are on sale via the festival's website.

Three day weekend tickets with camping cost €159. Meanwhile, day tickets cost €59.90.

Is there food and drink at Indiependence Festival 2022?

There will be a wide range of food and drink vendors at Indiependence 2022.

Are children allowed to Indiependence Festival 2022?

Indiependence is a strictly over 18s event.

Banned items

You can bring your own alcohol into the campsite as long as you have a camping ticket. This is limited to 24 cans or 1 litre of spirits in a plastic bottle per person (or half of each).

Other items banned from Indiependence include aerosol canisters, air horns, animals (excluding registered guide or hearing dogs), backpacks or handbags over A4 size, banners or flags with poles, barbecues, cameras with detachable lens, Go Pros, sky lanterns, gazebos, fireworks, glass, musical instruments, iPads and lasers, among others.
