Coorg, Karnataka: Worth Every Rupee
Coorg earns its premium pricing because the district itself does the work. The coffee estates are real, the mist arrives without being arranged, and the better resorts, Orange County and Amanvana among them, are built into the terrain rather than imposed on it. A stay at a working plantation property means you wake to the smell of wet earth and Arabica, not air-conditioning. The food sourcing is local in a way that is not a marketing claim: pepper, cardamom, and pork coorg-style come from within a few kilometres. At the higher price points, the staff-to-guest ratio is genuinely high. You are not paying for marble lobbies. You are paying for quiet, and Coorg delivers it.
