Indianapolis Colts DE Kwity Paye questionable for game vs Vikings

The Indianapolis Colts have listed defensive end Kwity Paye as questionable ahead of the team’s primetime matchup on Sunday with the Minnesota Vikings.

Paye popped up on the injury report on Thursday with a hamstring injury after not being listed on Wednesday. He was limited on Thursday and Friday.

Paye had worked through a hamstring injury earlier in the season. It is unknown if the one he is dealing with now is similar to what he experienced back in September.

In Week 6, Paye returned to action after missing the previous two games with a quad injury. On the season, he has totaled 15 pressures, which is the third-most on the team, despite missing some time.

With that said, Paye’s impact isn’t always going to show up on the stat sheet either. He’s a willing run defender at the defensive end position and a selfless player as well, doing some of the dirty work, which includes setting edges.

Last week against Houston, the Colts pass rush as a whole got a huge boost with the return of DeForest Buckner to the middle of that unit. Overall, the Indianapolis pass rush has been inconsistent this season, but a contributing factor are the injuries that they’ve had to navigate in the trenches.

Any sort of success for the Indianapolis defense this week in Minnesota begins with the front being able to pressure quarterback Sam Darnold.
