Harrison Ford has gone on the record about how much 'fun' he had shooting the new Indiana Jones movie in Northumberland, after the film had its premiere this week.
Acting legend Harrison, the star of films like Star Wars, The Fugitive and Air Force One, got back into the costume of his famous adventurer alias two years ago, at the age of 78; with his arrival in the region causing quite a stir As well as shooting scenes at Bamburgh Castle, where fires and explosions were spotted by excited onlookers, Harrison got to know his new surroundings, being spotted enjoying some food down the coast at The Ship's Cat in North Shields and cycling along the Tyne in Newcastle, where he also paid a visit to Quayside haunts Khai Khai and Aveika.
Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny is out at cinemas nationwide this week and, as he promotes the film, Harrison appeared on Lorraine on Wednesday, where he was asked by the ITV show's showbiz correspondent Rhia Hebden what it was like going back to the franchise, four decades after Raiders of the Lost Ark lit the touch paper on its huge popularity.

He told her: “It was a big job of work and a very ambitious film and I was delighted with the script," before giving a nod to how much he enjoyed his time in the North East, adding: "It was fun to go to work every day.”
On the subject of what made him go back to his role as Indiana Jones, Harrison explained; "It’s been 40 years since the beginning and I’d been waiting for this script and opportunity to come along for quite a few years. And we finally came up with the right mix of adventure and character and emotion and so I was thrilled to be able to step back into this character.”
And finally, when pressed by Rhia on whether he had any 0plans to retire yet, the now 80-year-old big screen icon told her: "Retired? I wouldn’t know what to do with myself.”
