Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is out now on Xbox Game Pass

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is swinging on to Game Pass on Monday (December 9) after several days in early access.

With either a Game Pass Ultimate or PC subscription, you can play the game in full without forking out full price upfront. As an added perk, Ultimate members can even skip the download time and stream it on an Xbox Series X/S, mobile, laptop and select smart TVs.

That’s especially handy as the game’s file size is roughly 133 GB on consoles, the highest ever for a game developed by MachineGames. If that name rings a bell, it’s probably because you’ve heard of a little series called Wolfenstein which, like Indy, is all about pummeling loathsome Nazis.

If you can tear yourself away from the great games already on Game Pass, including recent big-name additions like Stalker 2 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Indiana Jones is well worth your time.

In our four-star review, we hailed it as a thrilling, immersive adventure that captures the wit, grit, and cinematic charm of the classic films, offering fans both old and new a chance to experience Indy’s whip-cracking escapades in a richly detailed world.

If it landed a month or two earlier, it would have been a shoo-in for Game of the Year at the numerous awards ceremonies currently taking place.

Still, it’s another feather in the cap for Xbox after a turbulent year that saw its parent company Microsoft accused of abandoning fans with its multi-platform strategy.

Speaking of which, Indiana Jones is among a handful of Xbox games that will eventually launch on PlayStation 5. It will be available on Sony’s console in the spring of 2025, giving Xbox players several months of exclusive access to the game.

Game Pass Ultimate currently costs £14.99 per month, while the PC-only plan is £9.99. New users can sample the latter for two weeks in exchange for a quid.

Microsoft previously pulled the cheap trial offer for Game Pass Ultimate ahead of the launch of Black Ops 6, but reinstated it for the PC tier in time for Black Friday last month. Keep in mind that signing up for the trial renews your subscription to full price automatically after 14 days unless you cancel in advance.
