Indian Super League: Mumbai slam four past Goa for a big win

MUMBAI: Three goals in 14 minutes turned the game on its head as Mumbai City FC strode to a handsome 4-1 win over 10-man FC Goa in the ISL at Mumbai Football Arena.

It was Mumbai’s fourth consecutive win.

That 14-minute period came either side of the half-time with Mumbai taking the lead in the 42nd minute and increasing it to 4-1 with goals in the 48th and 55th minutes.

Pereyra Diaz (16th, 48th), LZ Chhangte (42nd) and Alberta Noguera (55th) scored for Mumbai while Iker Vallejo (22nd) had scored a well-deserved equaliser for Goa.

It was a surprising capitulation from Goa after such a bright start. It was as if they had got Mumbai’s jugular and did not apply enough pressure to cut it open.

Mumbai move to 21 points from 9 matches while Goa stay on 12 points from 9 matches.
