KOLKATA: The Information & Broadcasting ministry’s list of selected films for the Indian Panorama, the flagship component of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), has some interesting inclusions and exclusions from Bengal. Two tribute films to Mrinal Sen and Ritwik Ghatak and a film based on a story by Satyajit Ray didn’t make the cut. The chairperson, aided by 12 jury members including Bengal’s director-producer Anjan Bose, chose a thriller intertwining the life and controversies of Rabindranath Tagore in the 25 feature films to be showcased at the 54th IFFI from November 20 and 28 in Goa.
