Indian-origin man arrested in Singapore for harassing 22-year-old woman, posed as victim’s father’s friend

An Indian-origin man has been sentenced to five months in jail in Singapore for touching a woman inappropriately, The Straits Times reports.

42-year-old Om Kumar Rai pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced on Friday. The court heard that he approached a 22-year-old woman in the early hours of June 17, 2025, claiming to be her father’s workmate.
