Indian man in Michigan, convicted of sexual abuse of children, arrested by ICE; student visa was revoked in 2024

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the arrest of Indian man Nava Kumar Tupili who was earlier convicted of sexual abuse of minors. "Nava Kumar Tupili, a criminal illegal alien from India, convicted for accosting children for immoral purposes and using a computer to commit a crime in Wayland, Michigan," the Department of Homeland Security said. ICE said there was already an ICE detainer on the man as he was residing in the US illegally. Tupili entered the US on a student visa which was revoked in 2024, ICE said adding that the county jail honored the ICE detainer and turned the man to ICE instead of releasing him.

Last weekend, ICE arrested criminal illegal aliens across the country convicted for despicable crimes including sexual assault of a child, human trafficking for sexual servitude, sexual solicitation of a minor, rape, kidnapping, and other appalling crimes, the department said.
