Just weeks after opening a savings account with Sharjah Islamic Bank, an Abu Dhabi-based Indian expatriate has won the Dh2 million grand prize in the bank's Millionaire campaign.

The winner,Shajeer Venga, 34, opened his account through the SIB Digital App and was selected in a draw held at SIB's main branch. His win came within weeks of joining the programme, an outcome he said he had not expected despite following the campaign for years.
Speaking to Khaleej times, Venga said he had long hoped to become one of the campaign's winners after reading about previous prize recipients. He described the Dh2 million payout as a life-changing sum that would help him invest in his future and reunite his family in the UAE.
