NEW DELHI: The Indian compound women's team, consisting of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Aditi Swami, and Parneet Kaur, secured a spot in the World Cup Stage 3 final in Antalya, Turkey on Wednesday.

The team aims to clinch their third consecutive gold medal in the prestigious event.

According to PTI, as the world's top-ranked team, India received a bye into the quarterfinals, where they comfortably defeated El Salvador 235-227.

In the semi-final, they faced the host nation, Turkey, and emerged victorious with a score of 234-227, setting up a final showdown against Estonia.

However, the men's team, comprising Priyansh, Abhishek Verma, and Prathamesh Fuge, suffered a narrow defeat in their bronze medal match against France's Nicolas Girard, Jean Philippe Boulch, and Adrien Gontier.

The Indian trio lost by a single point, with a final score of 235-236.

The compound finals are scheduled to take place on Saturday, where the Indian women's team will be vying for their third straight gold medal in the World Cup series.
