NEW DELHI: Ahead of the Boxing Day Test against Australia starting Thursday, veteran India batter Cheteshwar Pujara has raised concerns about the visitors’ bowling line-up, expressing doubts about its ability to collectively take 20 wickets. Pujara believes the current combination appears weak in comparison to the demands of a Test match.
Barring Jasprit Bumrah’s 21 wickets and Mohammed Siraj’s 13 scalps, the rest of the Indian bowling attack has struggled to meet expectations. Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Akash Deep, all touring Australia for the first time, have managed just 10 wickets collectively.
