India vs South Africa: Tickets priced between Rs 1,500 and 6,000 for T20I opener

KOCHI: The ticket sales for the India vs South Africa T20I to be played at the Greenfield stadium, Thiruvananthapuram on September 28 began on Monday. Tickets have been priced between Rs 1500 and Rs 6000, which is inclusive of the GST and entertainment tax.

However, students will be given a 50% concession if they buy tickets through their educational institutions in advance from the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA). Only upper-tier tickets, which are priced at Rs 1500 will be available for students on concession.

Tickets for the pavilion are priced at Rs 2,750 while tickets for the KCA grand stand is Rs 6000 (inclusive of food). Tickets can be brought through www.paytminsider.in. Fans can also buy tickets from state government’s Akshaya centres, with whom KCA has reached an agreement.

Cine actor Suresh Gopi officially launched the ticket sales for the T20I by handing over the first ticket to Federal Bank vice-president and Regional Business Head A Harikrishnan at a function held on Monday evening.

Cricketer Sanju Samson, who is not part of the Indian squad for the T20 series against South Africa, was felicitated during the occasion.

Sanju will be captaining the India ‘A’ team, who will be playing against visiting New Zealand ‘A’ in a three-match series in Chennai starting on Wednesday. A short film on Sanju was also released during the function.

The Indian and South African teams will be arriving in Thiruvananthapuram on September 26, two days before the game. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, secretary Jay Shah are also expected to attend the game.
