India will begin their three-match ODI series against England on Tuesday as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli return to the side after consecutive T20I series defeats to Ireland and England. With preparations for the 2027 ODI World Cup underway, both teams will look to make a strong start to the series at Edgbaston in Birmingham.

Virat Kohli returns after missing the Afghanistan series, while Jasprit Bumrah is set to play his first ODI since India's defeat to Australia in the 2023 World Cup final. Head coach Gautam Gambhir will also be aiming to guide the team to a series-opening win following recent setbacks in Tests and T20Is.
