India are set to face Afghanistan in a one-off Test match at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, beginning on Saturday.
The BCCI selection committee has made changes to the leadership group, removing Rishabh Pant from the Test vice-captaincy and appointing KL Rahul in his place. Jasprit Bumrah has also been rested from the entire Afghanistan tour, including both the Test and the subsequent three-match ODI series, as part of workload management ahead of the upcoming England tour.
