NEW DELHI: With 2,451 new coronavirus infections being reported in a day, India's total tally of Covid-19 cases rose to 4,30,52,425, while the active cases increased to 14,241, according to the Union health ministry data updated on Friday.
The death toll climbed to 5,22,116 with 54 fresh fatalities, the data updated at 9 am stated.
The active cases comprise 0.03 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded as 98.75 per cent, the ministry said.
An increase of 808 cases has been recorded in the active Covid-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.
Meanwhile more than 192.40 crore (1,92,40,45,605) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category.; and more than 20.10 crore (20,10,82,885) balance and unutilized Covid vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
Moreover, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 187.26 crore (1,87,26,26,515) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. This has been achieved through 2,29,29,662 sessions.
Covidvaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 2.57 crore (2,57,74,412) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of the vaccine. Similarly, the precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards. 2,71,983 precaution doses have been administered in age group 18-59 years so far.
