India Day event in Dublin set to be 'epic celebration of both cultures'

A huge India Day celebration is to take place at Farmleigh Estate in Dublin's Phoenix Park on Sunday, August 21.

Organised by the India Ireland Council alongside the Office of Public Words, Dublin City Council, other civic bodies, Indian agencies and diaspora, this India Day event will celebrate "a confluence of Irish and Indian cultures". Ticket holders to the event can expect plenty of live music and dance as well as Indian food, fashion shows and a handcraft fair featuring both Indian and Irish crafts.

Chairman of the India Ireland Council Prashant Shukla spoke to Dublin Live about what people can expect from the first in-person India Day event at Farmleigh Estate since before the pandemic. He revealed: "This is a full scale event after the pandemic's start. We did two India Day celebrations online.
