Ind vs NZ: Ind reduced to 86/4 after Jadeja, Sundar bowl out NZ for 235

Indian team celebrates dismissal of Kiwi batter

Mumbai: New Zealand picked three quick wickets in the last two overs to reduce India to 86/4 on Day 1 in the third and last Test match being played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. 

At stumps, Rishabh Pant  (1*) & Shubman Gill (31*) were at the crease. For New Zealand, spinner Ajaz Patel has taken 2 wickets while Matt Henry got one.

Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first.

The visitors were bowled out for 235 runs in the first innings. Daryl Mitchell scored an excellent 82 runs for the Kiwi team, while Will Young scored 71 runs.

Spinner Ravindra Jadeja took 5 wickets while Washington Sundar took 4 wickets. Besides, Akashdeep also took one wicket.

India lost 3 quick wickets 
In reply to the visitors' 235, India got off to a bad start as skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 18 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal returned to the pavilion on a score of 30. Following this, Mohammad Siraj came to bat as a nightwatchman. However, he was dismissed for a duck on the very first ball he played.

India batter Shubman Gill

India star batter Virat Kohli, who came to bat at number 5, got run out on his individual score of 4. Team India lost three wickets in the last 2 overs of the day, relinquishing the advantage they got after dismissing the visitors for 235.
