Plans to 'revive' the old Imperial Tobacco Horizon factory and create 1000 new jobs in the area have been given the green light.
Once the five industrial units on the former Imperial Tobacco site on Thane Road have been completed, there could be as many as 1000 jobs created, according to developers.
The factory opened in 1972 and was widely considered a leading production facility, but due to changes in market conditions and for logistical reasons, Imperial Tobacco ceased production on the site in 2016 and relocated their manufacturing process to mainland Europe.
