In the late 1960s, a killer terrorised California, claimed responsibility through cryptic letters & ciphers, then vanished into one of America’s biggest unsolved mysteries

The Zodiac Killer is one of the most notorious unidentified serial killers in American history. Between 1968 and 1969, the killer attacked people in California's San Francisco Bay Area, killing five and leaving two survivors. But the murders were only part of the mystery. The Zodiac also sent a series of bizarre letters and coded messages to newspapers, taunting police and claiming responsibility for the killings.

More than five decades later, the killer's identity remains unknown. Despite years of investigations, countless theories and several people being considered as suspects, authorities have never conclusively identified the person behind the Zodiac name.
