A disturbing kind of content has been circulating across social media in recent years.
Women respond to men flirting with them in public, and later see footage of their entire interaction posted to TikTok or Instagram. These are often filmed without their consent, and the perpetrators most commonly use Meta glasses.
Several victims have spoken about this in the past, including one woman on TikTok who acknowledged that the video exists and is circulating, imploring the public to report it so it gets removed.
Woman Asks Audience to Help Geta Meta Glasses Video Down
In a video that has garnered over 260,400 views, TikTok creator Mirta Iris Adame (@fitandblonde) says she became one of those women.
“Y’all, I am aware of that video,” Adame says. “I really, really am.”
She says people have been sending her the clip across multiple platforms.
“I literally every single day keep getting a message on Facebook, a message on Instagram and on TikTok about it,” Adame says, adding that the situation has been frustrating to deal with.
She says she takes issue with how the content is being made.
“I’m more than anything just frustrated that this person is getting away with doing all of this, with recording women intoxicated,” Adame says.
According to her, this wasn’t an isolated case.
“I’ve seen in his page and his platform… somebody uses a platform to do that kind of thing, especially towards women,” Adame says.
She says the interaction itself wasn’t unusual for her, so she didn’t think twice.
“As women, there’s always going to be somebody who’s gonna reach out to you, approach you, trying to flirt, trying to get your number,” Adame says. “It’s just the fact that this person posted something without my consent,” Adame says. “That’s where I really just don’t appreciate it.”
Now, she’s asking others to help get the video taken down.
“If you do come across that video again, just report it,” Adame says. “Report this dude. Somebody needs to cancel him.”
She also warned others to stay aware in public.
“Please be careful… now we have to watch out for men recording us with Meta glasses,” Adame says. She adds that her encounter happened at a Walmart in the South Park Meadows area.
How Common Is This?
Videos like this have been showing up more frequently, with women sharing similar experiences.
In one case reported by CNN, a woman said she was approached while waiting for her flight in an airport lounge in Washington, D.C. After agreeing to exchange numbers, she later discovered multiple videos of the man approaching women in airports.
According to the report, he asked for permission to post her video but never received it, and uploaded it anyway. The footage was also recorded using Meta glasses.
Responding to CNN, Meta Platforms has said its smart glasses include an LED light that turns on when recording is happening. This is meant to to signal to others nearby.
However, the publication notes that users can easily cover that light with accessories designed to block it.
The Mary Sue has reached out to Meta via email for comment and Adame via TikTok messages.

In the comments section, many viewers sided with Adame and called the behavior out.
“That’s not ok, sorry this happened to you!” one person wrote.
“In a place like Walmart, they can legally record you because it’s a public setting,” one user wrote. “But once they post that video on TikTok, you can still report it and request removal if it involves your face, feels like a privacy violation, or comes off as harassment even if the recording itself wasn’t illegal,” another said.
