Impressive sight as Nottingham Council House lit up on St George's Day

At the end of St. George's Day, Council House in Nottingham lit up in red with the huge St George's Cross overlooking Old Market Square. Photographer Alexia Howes captured the impressive scene in the evening.

The square had earlier seen the St George's Day parade. Large numbers of people turned up for the start at the Thurland pub on Pelham Street before making their way through the city centre. They were joined by knights on horseback and Nottingham's official Robin Hood, Tim Pollard, who leads the parade every year.
