‘I’m the lucky one because I knew you’: Tributes paid to Anthony Head after death aged 72

  • Anthony Head , the British actor best known for his role as Rupert Giles in ' Buffy the Vampire Slayer ', has died at the age of 72. His daughters confirmed that he passed away due to complications related to pneumonia.
  • Sarah Michelle Gellar , who played Buffy, led heartfelt tributes, saying: “I know I’m the lucky one because I knew you. Thank you to Daisy and Emily who not only shared their dad with me, but with the world.
  • Other 'Buffy' co-stars including James Marsters and Emma Caulfield also paid tribute to the actor.
  • Head's extensive career also included notable roles in British productions such as 'Little Britain' and 'Merlin', and more recently as Rupert Mannion in 'Ted Lasso'.
  • Fellow actors from 'Ted Lasso', including Brett Goldstein and Jeremy Swift, also shared their condolences and memories of working with the acclaimed actor.
