Brisbane utility Billy Walters has played hooker for Souths Logan Magpies and sent coach Michael Maguire a key message as he eyes a first NRL match in 10 months.

The 32-year-old ruptured an ACL in the qualifying final win over Canberra last September but has played three matches in Queensland Cup for the Magpies on the comeback trail.
