KOZHIKODE: The demolition of the illegally constructed ropeway and related structures in the land belonging to Nilambur MLA PV Anwar's father-in-law at Cheengannipally in Urangattiri panchayat in Malappuram district began on Friday.
The ombudsman for local self-government institutions had ordered for demolition of the ropeway and other unauthorized constructions carried out in the land of Abdul Latheef located on a hill top. Though the ombudsman had ordered for the demolition long ago, it had got delayed multiple times and an ultimatum was issued to complete the process by March.
