Illegal Immigrant Accused Of Raping Girl In NYC Park

U.S. Supreme Court allows Texas law on suspected illegal immigrants to take effect

A shocking incident unfolded in Kissena Park, Queens, where a 25-year-old Ecuadorian illegal immigrant, Christian Geovanny Inga-Landi, was accused of a heinous crime involving the rape of a 13-year-old girl and a boy. The community sprang into action after recognizing Inga-Landi from a wanted poster, leading to a citizen's arrest.

According to police reports, Inga-Landi allegedly forced the two children into the woods at Kissena Park with a machete-like knife, tied their wrists together, and proceeded to rape the girl. The children were also gagged, and DNA evidence linked Inga-Landi to the crime scene.

Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz condemned the attack, emphasizing the severity of such crimes in a public space. The criminal complaint revealed that the children were strangers to the attacker, who threatened them with violence before committing the assault.

Inga-Landi admitted to the attack during police questioning, detailing the horrific events that transpired. The community's vigilance and cooperation with law enforcement led to his apprehension, with several residents aiding in detaining him until the authorities arrived.

The suspect, who entered the U.S. illegally in 2021, had a history of minor offenses prior to the recent incident. Despite facing multiple charges, including rape and kidnapping, Inga-Landi did not enter a plea during his arraignment and was remanded without bail.

The swift response from New Yorkers and the collaborative effort between residents and law enforcement underscored the community's commitment to ensuring justice for the victims and holding perpetrators accountable for their actions.
