Illan Meslier believes that Brenden Aaronson is capable of 'fantastic' things at Leeds United but insists that the USA international 'needs time' to fully settle in the Premier League.
Aaronson arrived at Leeds from Red Bull Salzburg back in the summer for a reported fee of £24.7 million, after previously playing under Jesse Marsch for the reigning Austrian champions.
He made a strong first impression by consolidating two strong performances against Wolves and Southampton respectively, with his first Premier League goal in a memorable 3-0 win over Chelsea in August.
However, his form has stuttered in recent weeks, which has inevitably led to questions marks from both supporters and the media. His misjudged pass back which presented Gianluca Scamacca with the chance to score in Leeds' 2-2 draw against West Ham earlier this month was a notable low point.

But Meslier is confident that his teammate can bounce back from his recent struggles, but admits it may take time for him to fully adapt to such a 'hard league'
"I like them both [Tyler Adams and Aaronson]. They are my American guys," Meslier joked in an interview with NBC Sports. "Brenden is important. He has also discovered a hard league, and he can do fantastic things.
"He just needs time but what he's done already is crazy. He scores and makes assists, he is a very good player in small spaces. He can turn and he is a good player no doubt."
