Ilkay Gundogan sends Liverpool FC title message after Man City beat Leeds

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan insists every game is a "final" as title race with Liverpool further intensified on Saturday following wins for each team.

Pep Guardiola's side went to Elland Road to face Leeds sitting in second after Liverpool edged past Newcastle United at St James' Park. A 4-0 win for City - a scoreline which flattered the visitors - restored their one-point lead at the top of the Premier League.

Rodri headed the Blues into a one-goal lead at the interval. After the restart in trademark City fashion, the reigning champions asserted their dominance with Nathan Ake, Gabriel Jesus firing home before a collector's item from Fernandinho completed the scoring.

"I think it's only as tough as you make it for yourself, at the end of the day," the 31-year-old said. "We need to manage situations, it's normal, they play first and sometimes we play first.

"The pressure is always on and the responsibility is always to win all the games. It looks like both teams might not struggle until the end, that's what you want. Every game is a final now."
