Police have appealed for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Ilford.
Officers were called at 2am on Friday after a man attended an east London hospital with a head injury. The 31-year-old remains in a serious but stable condition, the Met said.
Detectives have established the man was assaulted on Thursday evening on Richmond Road at the junction with Henley Road.
No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.
The Met has appealed for information following the assault.
