IKEA brings back popular Christmas tree deal - but shoppers will pay more this year

Shoppers looking to get in a bargain tree for the festive season will be happy to hear that IKEA has brought back its popular Christmas tree offer - but this year is a little different.

The DIY giant's popular seasonal offer allows shoppers to get into the festive spirit by picking up a real fir tree that won't break the bank during the build up to the big day.

Officially returning to participating stores across Scotland and the rest of the UK from Friday, November 25, 2022, shoppers will be able to bag a real fir tree for just £15 this year.

To bag the deal, shoppers will need to head to store to pick up a tree worth £25, where they will then be awarded with a £10 voucher than can be redeemed in-stores, bringing the total to just £15.

Savvy Christmas shoppers might realise that this is a bit more expensive compared to last year, where they used to get a £20 voucher when they purchased a real fir tree for just £9.

The voucher can then be used to purchase a wide range of homeware items from the Swedish flatpack company next year from January 9 until February 15, 2023, reports HullLive.

Like previous years, Scottish and English stores will be offering shoppers locally sourced Nordmann fir trees grown in Scotland, while IKEA Cardiff will sell local trees that have been grown in Wales.

The Christmas trees come in a variety of sizes – with a maximum height of 170 cm (5 ft 5”) – so customers can choose the tree that best fits their home.

Anna Liakh, Commercial Activities Leader, IKEA UK and Ireland, said: “Over the festive season, a beautifully decorated tree becomes the focal point of any space. We’re thrilled to be bringing back our popular Christmas tree offer for another year, providing affordable, high-quality trees for customers to enjoy. With the added bonus of a £10 voucher to spend in the new year across our range of homewares in-store, we hope to spread the festive cheer for a few more months to come.”

IKEA encourages customers to recycle their used tree once the festivities come to an end; whether that’s recycling trees at home if the right facilities for composting allow, or via local collection or or drop off services to ensure a greener festive period.

The Christmas tree offer will run to December 24, 2022 in participating stores while stocks last.
