IKEA Announces Its 10th PS Collection With Three Products at Milan Design Week – Including the Chicest Inflatable Chair You Will Have Ever Seen

Just over 30 years ago, IKEA debuted its first PS Collection at the Milan furniture fair. It was a collection built to challenge exclusivity in the design industry with pieces that were not only well-made and stylish, but affordable, too. The PS Collection became a cult favorite, and IKEA continued to expand upon it over the years.

Now, back in Milan once again, IKEA has announced the 10th iteration of this collection – designed with the same intention, but underscored with a hint of playful flair – which is set to launch in stores and online on May 13th.

IKEA teased the launch of the collection at Milan Design Week with three standout products, including a blow-up (yes, blow-up) accent chair that looks as chic as a luxury find.

At first glance, you'd never guess that this chair is inflatable. But alas, it's filled with air, not foam or fiberfill. Created by IKEA designer Mikael Axellson, the 'Easy Chair' reimagines iconic inflatable furnishings from the '90s into something so sleek, you'd actually want to give it a dedicated spot in your home.

While blow-up furniture tends to have a short lifespan, this chair was built for longevity. It features a carbon steel frame for increased durability as well as a fabric cover that eliminates any squeaking or sliding. Plus, this fabric cover prevents damage to the inner air chamber, too.

Although the Easy Chair requires some manual labor with a foot pump for assembly, once blown up, it'll become the focal point of any room – not only for its stylish and slightly retro design, but for its unexpected assembly, too.

Along with the Easy Chair, IKEA unveiled two other products at Milan Design Week to tease its new PS Collection: the Floor Uplighter and the Bench.

Designer Lex Pott created the Floor Uplighter, a colorful floor lamp that bends every which way to cast its ambient glow wherever you need it to. Its form is sleek, and its shade looks trumpet-like, creating a lamp that's not only practical for your home, but statement-making, too.

As for the bench, that was designed by IKEA Designer Marta Krupińska. It features a slightly U-shaped base that gives it its rocking capability. And since it's made from solid pine, it's a highly durable piece that can handle the pressure of constant use.

Just as the first PS collection reflected the effortlessness of modern Scandinavian style and IKEA's principles of Democratic Design, this new collection does the same. Each piece has been made with form, function, quality, sustainability, and low price held to the same degree of importance, and it shows.

These three pieces are just a taste of what to expect from the rest of IKEA's PS 2026 Collection – highly functional furnishings that look good, are made well, and can go the distance in home design. Between their unique forms and playful capabilities, these three furnishings can become the multi-faceted personality pieces of your home, and I expect the rest of the collection will be just the same.
