Furniture meets music making in the Obegränsad collection, the latest collab between Swedish furniture maker Ikea and house music supergroup Swedish House Mafia.
The collection draws inspiration from the word ‘Obegränsad’, which means ‘unlimited’ in Swedish, and was curated based on the experience of Swedish House Mafia in making the home a place to start creating art pieces. The collection is designed to integrate the lifestyles of creatives and music lovers to conveniently create art and enjoy a sound music experience at their home studio in comfort, with furniture and home furnishings that come in distinctive design, painted in black — representing Swedish House Mafia.
The Obegränsad collection offers various items: armchair, desk, shelving unit, laptop stand, cushion, bag, and other items.
Two speaker stands are added to the desk in order to bring the speakers to your ear level. A pull-out shelf below the desktop allows you to have a midi keyboard, for example, in easy reach.
Shelving unit Kallax has been remixed with shelf space for amps, as well as the classic vinyl-sized block shelving, and a higher unit height for mixing on. It's basically a DJ booth for your home.
The armchair combines cutting-edge design and practical functions. The straps at the back and underneath can be adjusted to match your personal comfort level.
For vinyl records collectors and classics afficionados, the stand can hold about 60 vinyl records while its simple, minimal wire structure doesnt concealing them.
The Obegränsad collection will be available on Oct 8 at Ikea Bangna and Ikea Bang Yai, and online at Ikea.co.th from Oct 10. Unfortunately, the record player isn't available in Thailand.
