A Spiritual Bond Turns Into Marriage
Abhey Singh married Pratika, an engineer from Mangaluru, Karnataka, on February 15, 2026, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri. The ceremony took place at the revered Aghanjar Mahadev Temple, followed by a court marriage on February 19.
Their relationship reportedly began about a year ago, possibly at Sadhguru’s Adiyogi Ashram in Coimbatore, where they connected over shared spiritual values and a minimalist outlook on life. According to media reports, the couple now resides in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, leading a simple and intentional lifestyle.
Pratika, who has largely stayed away from the public eye, has described Abhey as “simple, honest, and sincere,” reflecting the quiet nature of their relationship despite the media attention.
Viral Moments and Public Curiosity
The couple recently visited Jhajjar, Haryana, on March 6 to meet Abhey’s family and complete some official work. Their visit quickly went viral, with clips showing the saffron-clad Abhey alongside his wife as they signed documents and interacted with locals at his father’s chamber. Curious onlookers gathered in large numbers, fascinated by the unexpected transformation of the once-viral ‘baba.’
Who Is IITian Baba?
Abhey Singh hails from Sasroli village in Jhajjar district, Haryana. A brilliant student, he secured an All India Rank of 731 in JEE Mains 2008 and went on to study aerospace engineering at IIT Bombay from 2008 to 2012. He later pursued a Master’s degree in Design.
After working in India and Canada—where he reportedly earned around ₹36 lakh per annum—Abhey chose to walk away from a successful career in aerospace to pursue spirituality. His journey through Himalayan towns like Shimla, Mussoorie, and Dharamshala played a significant role in shaping this transition.
He gained widespread attention during Mahakumbh 2025, where his appearance in ascetic robes and his views on science and spirituality sparked intense discussions online.
Family Perspective
Abhey’s father, Karan Grewal, a senior advocate and former president of the Jhajjar Bar Association, has expressed mixed emotions about his son’s path. In earlier interviews, he mentioned the family’s desire for Abhey to return home, while also acknowledging his deep-rooted inclination toward spirituality.
What Lies Ahead?
Despite the unconventional nature of their journey, Abhey and Pratika appear to be united by a shared vision. In a recent interaction, Abhey revealed plans to establish “Shree University”—an initiative aimed at blending spiritual wisdom with modern knowledge systems, and promoting Sanatan Dharma under one unified platform.
From an IIT graduate to a spiritual influencer, and now a married life rooted in simplicity, Abhey Singh’s story continues to evolve—capturing public imagination at every turn.
