IIT-Bombay's 'peeping Tom' arrested, his phone sent to forensic lab

MUMBAI: Powai police on Tuesday arrested a 22-year-old IIT-Bombay canteen worker, employed on a contractual basis, in an alleged case of watching or capturing images of a student bathing in the girls hostel.

The incident occurred last Sunday in Hostel 10, when accused Pintu Gariya allegedly scaled the drainage pipe to the first floor and captured female hostelites bathing through the bathroom window. The incident took place a day after students of Chandigarh University protested against the alleged secret filming of females.
