I don't know about you, but the return of sunny weather is doing me the world of good – and whenever things brighten up outside, I start getting the itch to break out some water guns. If you're in a similar boat I have one hell of a recommendation for you. Forget piddly water pistols or Super Soakers; I've got something better in mind.
Meet the Spyra range. More specifically, meet the SpyraGo. This is undoubtedly one of the best water guns I've ever used, and I spend a lot of my time each year reviewing them. It feels a bit like a water pistol by way of Star Trek; it's crammed full of tech to make it much more accurate, satisfying to use, and hard-wearing. Yes, the price is higher to match those lofty ambitions. But to be frank, it blows everything else out the water. Now that I've been using Spyra for the last year or so, it's a struggle to go back.
Although I think the more expensive SpyraThree is the better blaster due to its increased firepower, accuracy, and functionality, the Go isn't a slouch by any means. It's a far better choice for most people, actually; it's much cheaper, lighter (which makes it better for younger water warriors), and still packs enough oomph to make rivals feel silly.
Charged by USB-C, the SpyraGo fires high-speed blobs of water at such a rate that your shots will go much further than your expect. It's far, far more accurate than you'll be used to, too. For most water guns, you'll shoot in the vague direction of foes and hope you hit something. With this one, you'll feel like a deadshot sniper.
This thing just looks cool, too. Thanks to a sleek sci-fi design, my inner child is eternally screaming with delight when holding the SpyraGo. It's more like a laser tag weapon than anything else.
Anyway, it's this that makes me very interested in the new SpyraFour that's due to launch in 2026. With how excellent the last few blasters have been, it's going to be one to watch this summer.
