DC's new Absolute Universe exploded into life last week with the release of Absolute Batman #1 – the first of a trio of initial titles that will reinvent DC's trinity in a tough new reality. It has the unenviable task of putting a fresh and relevant new spin on arguably, if not the first, then certainly the most influential superhero of all time.
