Newcastle United faced a mass exodus of Premier League stars when they were relegated to the Championship in 2009, with one in particular forcing through a move they now reflect on with disappointment.

Obafemi Martins, Sebastien Bassong, Habib Beye, David Edgar, Damien Duff, Michael Owen and Mark Viduka all departed Newcastle that summer, with no new signings coming in to replace them.
