Manchester United fans are digesting Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis' ambiguous update on Victor Osimhen’s future.
Osimhen is among Manchester United’s potential summer striker targets with Erik ten Hag looking for alternatives to priority Harry Kane after pushback from Tottenham.
The club have already held talks with Atalanta star Rasmus Hojlund while the likes of Randal Kolo Muani, Goncalo Ramos and Mohammed Kudus remain of interest.
Osimhen is considered to be the most pricey out of the fall-back options with Napoli expected to hold out for more than £100m amid heavy interest. However, club president De Laurentiis has suggested Osimhen has agreed in principle to another two years in Naples, albeit has given a caveat.

He said: "We already talked to Osimhen before the Scudetto celebration, so we already have a basic agreement on a two-year extension of his contract.
“I have said for a while that Osimhen has to stay. Then, if an offer came in that I could not refuse for the good of Napoli, then we would consider it, as is only natural."
United are after a marquee striker and quality midfielder this summer, and have recently added a new goalkeeper to that list. It looks increasingly likely that David de Gea will leave United upon the end of his contract at the end of the month with renewal negotiations taking a turn.
It’s not known what transfer budget Erik ten Hag will be handed amid the takeover process, which will likely impact United’s summer window.
Fans on Twitter have been reacting to the Napoli owner’s latest update on Osimhen in light of this.
@OfficialNanas01: Man Utd soon to miss out yet another chance to land one of their top target #ManchesterUnited all I feel is pity for the fans, this saga as lasted too long.
@herronaitor: So looks like it’s 120 mil or something. So that’s not happening for us.
@utdRizzgod: He can stay there till he retires. €150m is an insane fee.
@RedDoseMCR: We need to get it done.
@Shane_McG99: If he has any ambition, he doesn’t sign the extension and push a move through to the Premier League… that’s where all the big names wanna be.
