Some people claim to want to get away from it all and escape to the country for total peace and to live a simpler life but how many actually mean total privacy and a 'back to nature' lifestyle? Maybe most mean a budget-busting converted barn or former farmhouse along a country lane with some land to grow vegetables, have horses, and maybe a pool or hot tub in the garden as an added luxury to relax and also create an outdoor sociable hub.
There has been a rush to find smaller, more budget-accessible homes in rural settings too, with cute cottages and period terraces finding new owners who want a slice of the rural idyll that the Covid-19 lockdown has made them dream about. With working from home now a possibility full-time, or at least part of the time, for many people the options of where to live has expanded considerably – as long as the wifi in the middle of nowhere can get to you.
