Sir Idris Elba’s daughter Isan has ruled out any chance of her entering the Love Island villa, with the model branding the show’s challenges as “humiliation rituals”.
The 24-year-old is the daughter of actor Elba and his first wife Hanne “Kim” Nørgaard. The couple married in 1999 but split four years later.
Taking to her Instagram page, Isan Elba claimed to have been invited onto the US version of the reality competition multiple times, but chose to turn the producers down.
“The past few years without fail, I have been invited to go on Love Island,” she said in a video shared on Sunday (22 February). “They have even offered for me to skip the line and go straight to the final interview.
“This is exactly why I would never go on Love Island. Those challenges are a humiliation ritual. There is no way in hell I could be practically naked, making out with multiple people in front of millions of viewers.”
She added that she is “too awkward” to kiss anyone else on camera, “let alone give lap dances”.
Elba also said that she couldn’t be a villa bombshell as she’s “a man-hater”, adding: “There is no way that I’d be putting up with the BS that the men do on that show.
“I would be cussing everybody out, and that is not good for the brand. It takes a certain type of personality to go on that show.”
The Independent has contacted ITV Entertainment and NBC for comment.
Elba wouldn’t be the first contestant with famous connections to appear on a series of Love Island – with the British show having welcomed a number of stars with famous parents.
Dani Dyer, the daughter of Rivals star Danny Dyer, kicked off the trend by competing on the show’s 2018 series. She went on to win with now-ex Jack Fincham.
The following year, Tyson Fury’s half-brother Tommy signed up for the show and met his now-fianceé Molly-Mae Hague. They were joined in the cast by Belle Hassan, whose dad is The Football Factory’s Tamer Hassan.

Others include footballer Michael Owen’s daughter Gemma, Ronan Keating’s son Jack and chef Tonia Buxton’s daughter Antigoni – who all competed in series eight. Meanwhile, motorcycle racer Carl Fogarty’s daughter Claudia took part in series nine and This Morning presenter Rochelle Humes’ sister Sophie in series six.
The franchise’s latest series of Love Island: All Stars came to an end on Monday (23 February), with Ciaran Davies and Samie Elishi being crowned the 2026 champions.
