Actor and DJ Idris Elba is the latest celebrity confirmed to be coming to Cardiff Castle this summer. The 50-year-old, who recently reprised his role as DCI John Luther in Netflix’s Luther: The Fallen Sun, has been added to the line-up for Shangri-La’s massive summer date at the castle on Saturday, June 10.
Idris follows in the footsteps of Sir Tom Jones, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man and Westlife to name a few. They will all be performing in the Welsh capital this summer.
Fisher, Arielle Free, Sorley and Little Fritte will join Idris at the event in the Castle Grounds. Whilst tickets for the date are now sold out, the official Shangri-La after party will take place at The Great Hall at Cardiff University Students Union, with tickets available now.

To many Idris will be known for his roles in Luther, The Wire and the Nelson Mandela biographical film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom. Prior to becoming an actor, he already had an established career as a DJ.
